home remedies to induce labor?

Ok, so I have posted questions about thinning my cervix and it has helped some but I am still having horrible contractions and the doctor is not keeping me b/c she is saying the contractions are not strong enough to be considered "active" labor. I am 38 weeks and 2 days. Are there any natural remedies or "myths" to help induce labor at this point????

The Answer by ♥some♥wanna♥know♥ :
Yes,
Starting Labor with Natural Labor Stimulation Techniques
Some women are successful at using natural labor stimulation techniques to begin their labor. Generally these women are already showing signs of their body preparing for labor such as frequent Braxton-Hicks contractions, cervical softening and pelvic stretching.

One of the most commonly used methods for starting labor naturally are sexual intercourse, increased activity levels (such as going for walks), oral doses of castor oil, nipple stimulation and herbal preparations of blue or black cohosh.

Massage you nipples as hard as you can. And do a little squatting as if your picking up something off the floor.

Ok, first of all, if your body is not ready to go into active labor, nothing other than chemical augmentation (such as pitocin) will help. Wives tales includes walking excessively and remedies such as castor oil but there is no scientific proof that they will work unless the head is well engaged and you are well into early labor. Having sex and nipple stimulation has been shown to increase contractions and the sperm helps to ripen the cervix since it contains a natural hormone called prostaglandin. (Which means you have to lie on your back for half an hour or so instead of doing the usual jump up and run to the bathroom). Dehydration tends to cause early labor and contractions (which is how the castor oil works) but it is NOT recommended since this could have adverse effects on the fetus and mom.
    The best advice? Patience.

Unless your body is ready for induction…whether chemical or "natural" induction…..it won't work. If it were me I would wait another couple of weeks before attempting them. Keep yourself well hydrated to ease the contractions a bit. Best birth wishes.

Ok, this works. I used it, my sister used it and even my mom and grandmother used it. Castor oil. It is nasty going down your throat, but it WILL make you go into labor (active labor). You take the castor oil, then go for a good walk and when you go to bed it may work. People are not all the same, but I had my baby that night and my sister was admitted due to active labor although she didn't have hers for 2 days.

However you might consider trying a glass of wine to STOP the contractions. If you are having "false" labour then you might want to try to stop the contractions, then "real" labour will start when the baby is ready.

caffiene also helps… ever drink too much coffee and got all jittery, all your muscles are contracting…. dont drink too much because the fetus gets it too. so have a mountain dew walk and have sex, and if nothing happens body's not ready for labor yet, you also have the option of pitocin, and popping the water sac, which starts contractions

What worked for me was acupressure. I learned the techniques from an e-book a friend recommended to me.
