I was 39 wks with my daughter and I was soooo impatient. I thought about doing some of the things I had heard for inducing myself but my mom said it can be bad for you and baby. So I walked instead. It worked! I don't recommend taking anything that causes labor to start.

I have not, but unless you are past due, I would not recommend doing anything to induce labor. It is best for your baby to stay inside and finish developing until the full 40 weeks. Give that baby the best chances, and full lung development.

I wouldn't suggest it.
MIL is a labor/delivery room nurse. She says to tweak your nipples or have sex.
Didn't work for me though - I had to be induced.
Just let nature take its course.

Mineral Oil makes you poop. I don't know about inducing labor. Pediatricians give it to babies who are constipated. I don't think there is anything negative.

i wouldn't do it. i went with the midwifery model of care when i was pregnant (natural childbirth etc) and they advised against it. apparently, you just poo like crazy. they said that, despite our best efforts, babies generally come when they are good and ready so unless you are trying to avoid an induction, i would stay away from the mineral/castor oil.

all that being said, i tried a bunch of other things to kick start my labor: red raspberry leaf tea, evening primrose oil orally and vaginally, aromatherapy, walking stairs many times per day, sex, nipple stimulation and accupuncture. my baby came three days late good luck!
