safe ways too induce labor?
im 36weeks pregnant and if i go over due then i would like to induce my labor. can you give me some safe and easy ways to bring labor on? thanks
The Answer by Jennifer :
Walk a lot or have sex.
The fact is, you'll go into labor when the baby is ready, and not a moment before. It's not up to you or anything you do. It's up to the baby.
Have you tried reasoning with him/her? hehee

nothing you can do will successfully induce you unless your body was about to go into labor anyway and it is not really safe to try to force yourself into labor on your own. that being said, some old wives' tales are to try: spicy food, sex, walking, etc.

Drinking raspberry tea is supposed to be a good one. And the cleaning the house from top to bottom (nesting) feeling you get when it's nearly that time gets your body going. Good luck!

There are only things you can do and hope it happens, like walking, sex, and castor oil

I know you're very excited to get that baby out, BUT let nature take it's course. When he/she wants to come out he/she will! Trust me you'll want the last couple of weeks to get as much done without being overwhelmed!

First thing you should let it come naturally …. you can try cod liver oil but it tastes bad and may not work for everyone …. walking helped with my first and second … Good Luck

walking, sex, spicy foods…but mostly I'd say, just let it happen when it happens! I know it sucks when you're in those last few weeks, but nothing is really proven to work 100% of the time.

Ive heard eating alot of fresh pineapple.. Ive looked it up online and apparently it works for some people but not for others.. Also apparently there is a pressure point in the heal of your foot that if massaged correctly it can bring on labour. I was advised by my Dr. not to get my foot massaged while getting a pedicure for that reason.

There's nothing you can really do naturally to induce labor, your baby will come when your baby is ready.
Here are some things that could speed things along should your body be ready:
Lots of walking (applies a lot of pressure to your cervix from the baby's head)
Nightly stretching & hip sways to keep your pelvis aligned and to ensure that your baby is head down and can apply adequate pressure.
Intercourse- Semen contains hormones similar to pitocin
Nipple stimulation- Requires quite a bit to have much effect but it releases oxytocin as well.
Bounce lightly on an exercise ball.
Some that I've heard that I think are strange:
Drink Papaya juice
Eat Pineapple

If you go over your doctor will induce you. I was 36 weeks pregnant and can honestly say, had intercourse, and he left it in. I went into labor about 2 hours later. I was told the semen helped? Don't know how true it is but I do know it happened to me.

i have heard these work: walking, sex, raspberry leaf tea, castor oil, spicy foods, cinnimon. also i have noticed more contractions if i vaccume the house but only do that if your vaccume isnt realy heavy. none of those have been actualy like scientifically proven to work but i dont see the harm in trying as long as you dont go overboard.

Scientific evidence proves that natural labor induction with acupressure is safe and effective. Stimulation of specific acupressure points starts labor in upto 83% women within 48 hours, sometimes in 25 minutes.
